Marilyn Monroe may have been correct when she sang the now iconic line ‘diamonds are a girl’s best friend’, but she certainly missed out a few precious stones too. In this shoot, photographer Chris Turner captures a delectable array of pink tourmaline, purple sapphires, amethysts, violet topaz and mandarin garnets against a backdrop of earthy hues. The vivid contrast between these kaleidoscopic jewels and the natural rock they lay on, creates a sense that they have just been discovered in their natural state. In turn, making creations from the likes of Ritz Fine Jewellery, Carnet by Michelle Ong, Cartier and Asprey even more mesmerizingly exquisite.
