In Tbilisi, Georgia, a city typically known for endlessly innovative designers, artists and creators, the pandemic caused uncertainty for those working in the creative industries. Given this, it is an especially vital time to support both up-and coming-designers and established brands to continue their important work and contribution to the Georgian fashion and art industries.

Recently, the Georgian Fashion Foundation (GFF) established the Georgian Fashion Foundation Prize by Sofia Tchkonia, founder of the well-known and successful Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi. With the aim of “reward[ing] established creative forces who need support and tutorship”, the Georgian Fashion Foundation endeavours to support the talented designers and brands of the Georgian creative industries with financial and business support in the form of various opportunities. “Support must not be a matter of declarations, it must be visible to every participant and industry representative,” the Georgian Fashion Foundation details, clearly expressing and affirming the aim of the GFF prize. These opportunities include mentorships, financial grants for collections and lines, PR support and more.

Additionally, applicants will be able to participate in the “GFF tutorship program”, which includes webinars with industry individuals, lectures, training and much more. The deadline to apply is 15 September 2021.

The terms of participation:

No restrictions on the country of participant’s origin.
Minimum 3 years of business operation prior to the application.
The brand is expected to ensure an existing branding strategy and recognisable visual aesthetics.
Only womenswear brands or those providing unisex designs are eligible for participation.
