Blu-Sky is a ballet dancer with extraordinary long hair. Her ballet school is pushing her to have it cut short, to match the average hair length of other students. When we heard about this, we wanted to create a fashion film and images that celebrate her long hair. We like how hair can link to fashion in structure and texture, and in the way it flows – hair and fashion, all part of individual expression. Our film tries to capture a mood of playfulness, structure and deconstruction. Blu-Sky’s hair is 42 inches long, which became the name of our editorial and film: “42 INCHES”.
