There’s no place like Roma. Distinctive for its history, cuisine, culture and sights it’s a hub of fascination for tourists the world over. And from the 3rd to the 31st of October The House of Peroni is bringing a slice of Roman culture to London.
Throughout the month of October a transformed town house will hold 4 floors of specially-commissioned pieces by Italian designers, artists and architects. But this wouldn’t be an Italian celebration without food, so culinary collective Bottega Wapping pay homage to the Eternal City with regional dishes including slow-roasted rabbit and encrusted Roman lamb. The enticing menu is equally accompanied by an exciting drinks menu, with three house bars hoarding mixologist Frederico Riezzo’s latest creations.
Stop by the first floor for drinks inspired by the films such as La Dolce Vita, or take part in workshops teaching you how to make fresh pasta (taught by Shoreditch’s first pastificio Burro e Salvia), the Italian origins of perfume, or even the chance to create your very own bow-tie from the finest of Italian fabric. A real stand out is the Film Feast – a multi sensory cinema experience accompanied by a complimentary menu created exclusively for the film.
So if your calendar is looking rather bare this Autumn, perhaps take the opportunity to escape without ever leaving the city, and divulge in all things Roma.
