At the heart of the Hermès Spring/Summer 2025 collection lies a truth as old as time: fashion is an art form. Unveiled on September 28 at the iconic Garde républicaine in Paris, Nadège Vanhée’s latest creation feels like a symphony of craftsmanship, creativity, and storytelling.

This season, Vanhée celebrates the sacred space of the atelier — where skilled hands breathe life into fabric, where late nights transform into beautiful days filled with inspiration. The collection embodies this spirit, showcasing a playful conversation between textiles and the women who wear them. Each piece is crafted with love, echoing the dedication and passion of the artisans behind them.

True to Hermès’ reputation for impeccable craftsmanship, this season places a strong emphasis on versatility. The long, zip-down skirt in feather-light silk mesh flows with grace, while the high-waisted culotte, proudly accessorised with a Médor belt, adds a cheeky twist. An ebony brown apron dress adorned with organdie bands in bas-relief becomes an exploration of form and function. The cotton poplin smock dress in bronze green is a wardrobe staple that whispers sophistication with every step. Each layer is thoughtfully designed to add a unique flair to any outfit, standing out on its own while enhancing the overall look with depth, complexity, and practicality.

Accessories become the collection’s main characters, stealing the spotlight. The Birkin à l’envers and the Plume bag both radiate an air of sophisticated confidence — as expected. The graphic Eau d’artifice drawing, with its two-tone fountain design, offers a clever trompe l’oeil effect, reminding us of the beauty found in the details and the artisan’s touch.

Textures take centre stage, too. Think about wood-soled sandals that elevate comfort to an art form, a tote in fauve Barénia leather that feels like it was plucked straight from a luxury dream, and geometric earrings that playfully nod to Hermès’ iconic craftsmanship. The colour palette is a feast for the eyes — denims in bougainvillea pink and muted greens, leathers in hues of camel, nutmeg, rooibos, and kraft paper, all inviting you to mix and match, to create your own story.

What makes the Hermès SS25 collection a true masterpiece, however, is its stunning duality. There’s a lightness achieved through exceptional craftsmanship, a balance between utilitarian design and elegant aesthetics. It’s a celebration of femininity that is both fierce and delicate, seducing the senses while commanding attention.
