Inspired by both the Himalayas and the native animals of Tibet, Save the Duck crafts eco-conscious outerwear for a new generation. Employing a range of custom fabrics, pieces from Save the Duck are highly functional, technical, and stylish, creating the perfect garment for both urban living and rural exploration. Each piece is designed for extended use, with a portion of some garments being made from recycled fibres sourced from recycled plastic bottles, a process that ensures their durability and timelessness.
The label’s new collaboration with M Missoni embraces the M Missoni tradition of mixing and remixing colours and styles from across the fashion spectrum. Missoni fabrics and cuts are reinterpreted, creating new and groundbreaking pieces. “I’m thrilled to have partnered with Save The Duck for this collection. Both M Missoni and Save the Duck are committed to sustainability initiatives. Even if I’m still not confident in saying that M Missoni is a sustainable label, we are consistently making strides – and this drop is a little step towards big, and necessary, changes,” M Missoni’s creative director, Margherita Missoni, says of the new collaboration with Save the Duck.
“Ethical and sustainable fashion is increasingly becoming the priority in the fashion industry. I’ve always given support and recognized the importance of sustainability principles, so it’s really exciting to be part of this movement. And while each and every one of us must do our part, there’s a beauty in collaborating with like-minded companies and people who appreciate and respect similar values. There’s power in numbers”.
Beyond the M Missoni collaboration, the latest Pro-Tech and Skyscraper Pro-Tech collections from Save the Duck also continue the label’s traditional inspiration in-house. Again using the Himalayas as a reference point, the brand journeyed to Ladakh. Divided into Free, Ever, and Hero silhouettes, the Pro-Tech lines absorbes the native colours and textures of Ladakh and incorporates them into its highly functional designs.
Patterns from native animals such as the Red Panda and Snow Leopard are evident across the Pro-Tech collection, with the label bringing their colour and natural defences against their difficult terrain into their new line. The “Skyscraper” Pro-Tech by Satoshi Yamane is inspired by the mountains and the woods. Maintaining the brand’s aesthetic and adding high-performance materials and details, the “Skyscraper” Pro-Tech outwear is perfect for modern urban life activities — regardless of weather inclemencies.
