Inés Fresedo’s highly anticipated spring/summer 2016 ready-to-wear collection is a collaboration with Chinese artist Lihua Chen and is inspired by her artwork Medical Accident. The collection is divided into four sections Broken, Illusion, Revive and Return. Medical Accident refers to a sudden unexpected change that people refuse to see or accept.
This latest collection remains true to Inés Fresedo’s low-key, casual and romantic aesthetic with amplified geometric elements working to make striking silhouettes. Chen Lihua’s pieces are abstracted, printed and reconstructed in three dimensional shapes. These exceptionally executed design elements make Inés Fresedo’s SS16 collection one not to be missed.
Inés Fresedo is a Chinese brand that was started by two performance artists. The owner of the brand, Mino Ho, also founded SHIRUHE in Beijing. The company’s predecessor, Shi Ru He Design Studio, provided free support of costume design for theatre plays and independent films. ‘Shi Ru He’ is a translation of the book title Comment C’est by Samuel Beckett.
