nike | acg returns with new gear and global racing team

Nike is bringing All Conditions Gear back to the forefront as a dedicated outdoor performance brand for those who find their rhythm in the mountains and on the trails. This move marks a significant evolution of a forty-year legacy, focusing on the specific needs of athletes who prioritise a deep connection with the wild. Scott LeClair, who serves as the Vice President and General Manager of ACG, views this reintroduction as a defining moment that invites people to unplug and explore.

Nike Trail will now transition fully into the ACG ecosystem to combine decades of running history with specialised outdoor innovation. This integration allows the brand to deliver technical solutions for various intensities and terrains. Key releases include trail-tuned footwear like the ACG Ultrafly and the rugged Zegama, alongside apparel designed for extreme conditions. The Radical AirFlow racing top and the Lava Loft down jacket serve as primary examples of how the brand balances breathability with protection for those pushing their limits in unpredictable weather.

“ACG has the foundation to shape the future of outdoor performance while pushing into spaces that feel fresh and unexpected. It is going to be a fun ride,” says LeClair.

The All Conditions Racing Department acts as the heartbeat of this revival, consisting of a growing roster of elite runners who test prototypes in the field. This season, the group expands with six new members, bringing the total to twenty-eight elite athletes. The diversity of this roster reflects a global approach to trail running, with the new additions providing a specific geographic balance.

Hiroki Kai and Takako Takamura represent Japan, while Hyunji Kang and Minchul Ko hail from Korea. From the United States, Jennifer Lichter and Adam Merry join the ensemble. These runners provide the feedback necessary to refine high-speed gear, often breaking equipment during testing to ensure the final products meet the demands of the global trail community.

Beijing sees the opening of the first dedicated ACG Base Camp this month, located in the Taikoo Li Sanlitun shopping centre. This standalone space functions as a physical manifesto for the brand and offers a hub for a new generation of explorers. ACG is also increasing its presence within the trail industry through partnerships with independent events such as the Broken Arrow Skyrace and the Gorge Waterfalls race.

These collaborations join the existing sponsorship of the Chongli 168 Ultra Trail to provide more opportunities and access for outdoor athletes. Through a fresh brand voice and a focus on physical retail activations, the brand hopes to inspire a renewed sense of adventure for those who play and live in the wild.
