Goldie Williams Vericain for Y-3
Since its conception in 2003, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 has redefined fashion at the intersection of luxury and sportswear. This juxtaposition was ever present in the brand’s autumn/winter 2025 collection debuting at Paris Fashion Week, deliciously intermingling structured silhouettes and the sportiness that comes with adidas’ Three Stripes.
An LED screen (reminiscent of jumbotrons) situated above the runway served as a way to transport attendees to a sports stadium. But, it was the sporting equipment-inspired garments – think knee pads on trousers, padded sleeves, and insulated hoodies and tees – that made the show come to life. Model – and it-girl – Gabriette took to the runway in a half-unzipped motorcycle suit and figure-hugging long sleeve, alongside the likes of basketball legend Candace Parker, skater Marcos Montoya, and footballer Djibril Cissé.
Black zip-up jackets with monochromatic stripes down the arm were paired with matching trousers while button-up shirts were placed under blazers with contrasting arms and collars. Dotted throughout Yamamoto’s signature black monochrome looks were baggy trousers, skirts, puffer jackets, and knitted jumpers adorned with a fiery red, orange, and yellow print inspired by the Japanese ink techniques of Suibokuga. That same red was also found on padded gilets, coats, and rainwear.
Leather racing suits and moto jackets (designed in partnership with Dainese), and one-of-a-kind motorcycle helmets adorned with artwork by Death Spray Custom were unveiled as a new collaboration, ‘Y-3-N,’ with Japan-based label NEIGHBORHOOD during the show, adding a striking contrast between the more laid back and monochromatic looks.
The final look – a long white button-up shirt, three-striped tie, black blazer, and tapered trousers – was a Y-3 classic: effortlessly fashionable, but extremely wearable. As the look came and went, the LED screen was illuminated with the brand’s iconic stripes, as models filtered back onto the runway for the finale.
