marine serre aw25 | heads or tails, act ii

Back in March, Marine Serre set the stage for transformation with her Autumn/Winter 2025 show at La Monnaie de Paris – a collection we explored in the first chapter of ‘Heads or Tails,’ where morning unfolded under a Parisian haze. Now, the story deepens. For Act II, the scene shifts across the Atlantic, landing in Los Angeles, where the soft California light turns cinematic, seductive, and just a little dangerous.

Shot once again by photography duo Julia & Vincent, with videography by Adrien Lallau, the new campaign immerses us in a dreamlike modern noir, almost like a private universe behind closed blinds and muted sunlight. Two women occupy a minimalist Californian interior where every gesture carries weight: a glance, a pause, a hand caressing the skin. The tension lingers, acting like a sensual, charged and elusive dance.

Inspired by the ambiguity of David Lynch’s ‘Mulholland Drive,’ the visuals thrive on suggestion rather than revelation. A white leather sofa, turquoise carpets, limbs tangled in silence – everything hovers on the edge of narrative without tipping over. Their silhouettes are razor-sharp yet intimate, sculpted in Marine Serre’s new signatures: strong-shouldered tailoring, supple leathers, second-skin fabrics, and hints of satin lingerie layered like hints of vulnerability beneath armour.

The spotlight is reserved for the season’s statement accessory: the Futura bag. Crafted in embossed black monogram leather, its sleek curves carry the quiet authority of a secret. A talisman for the collection’s femme fatales, it moves through the frame as both an object of desire and a symbol of nocturnal power.

With Act II, ‘Heads or Tails’ peels back another layer that is seductive, enigmatic, and impossible to pin down. And yet, Marine Serre’s evolution feels sharper than ever: crafting the modern femme fatale, one chapter at a time.

And what will the final act reveal? We’ll just have to flip the coin and hope for heads, though in Serre’s world, every outcome hides another secret.
