prada eyewear | the sound of prada, berlin 2025

There are few cities where sound reverberates quite like it does in Berlin — not just through speakers, but through history, identity and resistance. On May 28, Prada Eyewear tapped into that energy, taking over the iconic Kranzler Eck for the latest chapter of The Sound of Prada.

The event brought together a trio of artists whose sound palettes reflects the city’s genre-bending spirit. Headlining was the ever-magnetic Janelle Monáe, who stepped behind the decks as alter ego DJ Johnny Jane. Flanked by sets from Christian AB and Channel Tres, the lineup offered a tour through electronica, house, and hip-hop — a musical language Berlin speaks fluently.

Since launching in Paris in 2019, The Sound of Prada has unfolded as a kind of global mixtape, with stops in London, Cannes and, most recently, Seoul. Each edition feels tuned to its location. In Berlin, that meant anchoring the show at Kurfürstendamm’s Kranzler Eck, a former café-turned-cultural relic that has seen generations come and go. Within it, Prada installed a space inspired by its Symbole eyewear collection where guests could experience the site-specific installation along with the live music.

It wasn’t just about the sound. The guest list read like a who’s who of Prada’s expanding creative circle, with appearances from Brand Ambassadors Troye Sivan and Benedetta Porcaroli, Kit Connor, Ncuti Gatwa, Alex Consani and more.
