There is a trick to making black feel new again. When Hublot first paired gold with a rubber strap in 1980, it was considered a provocation. A year later, Yohji Yamamoto arrived in Paris with a collection of black, deconstructed silhouettes that the industry called ‘anti-fashion.’ Decades later, these two masters of rebellion have reunited for their fourth collaboration since 2020.
The Swiss house built its reputation on the ‘Art of Fusion,’ a philosophy that famously birthed the ‘All Black’ concept in 2006 and proved that a watch didn’t need to be legible or shiny to be luxurious. It was a move that prioritised texture and volume over traditional glitz, turning timepieces into architectural statements. The new Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo is the ultimate manifestation of this legacy and, for that matter, a full circle moment for its collaborators.

While previous chapters of this partnership, like the Big Bang GMT or the 20th Anniversary All Black, toyed with Hublot’s more aggressive silhouettes, this marks the first time Yamamoto has applied his lens to the Classic Fusion model. The 42mm case is crafted from matte black ceramic, featuring a monochrome camouflage pattern on its dial that shifts from visible to invisible depending on how the light hits the wrist.
For Yamamoto, black has always been “modest and arrogant at the same time.” In this limited edition of 300 pieces, that duality is everywhere. You have a rugged, tactile strap that fuses high-tech rubber with couture-grade fabric, echoing the layered textures of a Yamamoto runway piece. Even the case back maintains the mystery, using smoked sapphire to reveal the automatic calibre and skeletonised rotor without breaking the all-black spell.
“For Yohji Yamamoto, black reveals what truly matters; it purifies form, letting silhouette and texture speak,” says Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot. “At Hublot, we treat black as a living material, sculpted, layered, folded where each surface interacts differently with light. This project marks our very first collaboration on a Classic Fusion model, and together, we share the belief that luxury is not what shines, but what endures.”
The Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo will land at selected Hublot retailers and online, with only 300 pieces available and custom boxes bearing Yamamoto’s signature.
