Hunza G is going back to its roots, this time with a sun-drenched script. The London-born swimwear brand has just dropped its Core Collection, and its muse could not feel more of the moment: model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel Stella Maxwell, shot against the blue-hued grandeur of Reid’s Palace Hotel in Madeira, Portugal.
The Core Collection is exactly what you’ve come to love from Hunza G, but sharper and more polished. Core silhouettes like the Pamela, Jean, Nadine, and Xandra – all cult-watched favourites – return in a palette that’s striking and timeless: bubblegum pink, metallic cocoa, lilac, along with classic black and white. Square-neck one-pieces, ring-detail bikinis, and scoop-neck suits take centre stage, shown off against sun-eaten walls and a glittering sea. The new collection even includes easy-transition pieces beyond swim, like mini skirts and dresses to ease that move from poolside to sunset cocktails.
The campaign marks an evolution for the brand, which has come a long way since its founding in London in 1984 by Peter Meadows. The brand’s innovative, textured fabrics and body-conscious silhouettes quickly made it a staple of the ‘80s and ‘90s cultural and fashion moments. Its most iconic moment came in 1990, when Julia Roberts wore the now-famous Hunza mini dress in ‘Pretty Woman.’
In 2015, Georgiana Huddart relaunched the brand as Hunza G, bringing back its ‘Original Crinkle’ fabric with a modern, inclusive perspective. This proprietary, ultra-stretch material is the brand’s secret weapon, crafted with over nine million stitches per swimsuit to sculpt and support every body. The new collection leans into the forms and textures that have made Hunza G a cult label and a celebration of confident femininity.
