The Brat era isn’t over. In fact, Charli xcx is still very much in her popstar-with-a-P era. From her wild headline set at Glastonbury 2025 – where she literally burned the Brat curtain mid-song – to dropping a viral ‘Party 4 U’ video five years after the track premiered (thanks TikTok), ‘Brat’ is here to stay. Even at Parklife, she teased Brat Summer 2.0: “You know last year it was brat summer? Is it gonna happen again this year?” she asked. The crowd roared back. “Okay, cool… I’ll remember that you said that.” Now, she’s teaming up with Converse to bring that energy to your feet.
Charli xcx and Converse are giving the girls (and the theys) the Brat-era shoe they deserve: a customisable Chuck Taylor, dripping in attitude, nostalgia, and that very specific shade of burnt-out-party-girl confidence. For a limited time only, you can build your own pair of Bratified Chucks through the Converse By You platform, complete with grimy, beat-up details that say “I’ve been out since Thursday but make it fashion”.
Charli’s been wearing Converse forever – her actual beat-up pairs even served as inspo. The shoes in this collab come with pre-distressed canvas, faux scuffs, and even aged laces. The colour palette is peak main-pop-girl energy: classic black and white, plus soft monochromes like Bridal Rose and Brown Rice that feel like Y2K flip phones and discarded lip gloss, although no brat green is featured.
But it’s the bratty little details that make this drop a must-click. The rubber patch can be swapped out for “XCX,” “Party Girl,” or “Angel.” The soles are stamped with Brat or Party Girl graphics. And because she gets it, there’s a heel charm of a lock and key engraved with “Brat,” a subtle callback to “Unlock It” that’ll make any OG stan spiral (in the best way).
The campaign’s shot by none other than Petra Collins, so expect blurry flash, bratty stares, and that signature soft-grunge lens over everything. And Charli, of course, looking both goddess and girl next door.
Whether you’re blasting Club Classics or crying in the back of an Uber wearing a fur-trimmed mini, these Chucks are built for the chaos. But they’re only available on Converse.com starting 5 August at 10 am CET.
