With a career spanning back to the 1990s, when she fronted indie rock band theaudience, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has conquered the charts on more than one occasion. Her smash hits Groovejet and Murder on the Dancefloor brought her fame in the world of dance music, and a more recent apparition on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing brought her further into the public eye. Her dance-driven disco has given way to a new era in her music, with her fifth studio album Wanderlust being drastically different from anything she has done before.
With singles Young Blood and the upcoming Runaway Daydreamer, released March 31st, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has already conquered the charts, as well as the hearts of fans old and new. Schön! sat down with the singer to discuss her latest album and to find out what 2014 holds in store. Photographer Dimitris Theocaris captures the sylphlike-figure of the singer, in a range of 1960s-inspired looks, celebrating a rock & roll vibe. In customised adidas eyewear, as seen below, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is as striking as ever. To see the full editorial, and to read the full interview, head over to Schön! Issue 24.
