The Lunar New Year is drawing near and if you’re looking to inject a bit of punk-inflected momentum, Vivienne Westwood has just the thing. To celebrate 2026 as the Year of the Horse, the House has dropped a capsule collection that trades traditional kitsch for a high-energy mix of archival prints, revelling stallions and a healthy dose of British heraldry. It’s a tribute to vitality and ambition, but in true Westwood fashion, it feels more like a celebratory riot than a standard commemorative release.
The standout motif is a pair of rearing horses flanking the iconic Orb. This appears as burgundy flocking on knitwear and screen prints on jersey, often alongside Dominic Myatt’s ‘Wonderland’ artwork. For those seeking a more direct connection to the brand’s history, a dynamic rocking horse print reminiscent of the House’s most iconic footwear is featured across classic t-shirts and vests.
The jewellery is equally spirited, featuring an intricately sculpted horse that looks like it’s mid-celebration. You’ll find it suspended on chunky chain necklaces, bracelets and hoop earrings in both gold and platinum finishes. For the ultimate cool object, consider the red heart-shaped lighter with a gold orb. Paired with vibrant silk scarves featuring captivating equine graphics, it’s a guaranteed conversation starter.
Perhaps the most interesting piece for collectors, however, is the limited-edition timepiece. It features a textured ‘Hair Print’ on the dial, a trompe l’oeil effect first seen in the legendary 1991 ‘Cut, Slash & Pull’ Gold Label show. Here, the print has been revived to mimic the flow of a horse’s mane. Each watch is uniquely numbered on the back, available in silver with a cream dial or a bolder gold-and-red combo.
The collection is currently available at Vivienne Westwood boutiques and online.
