After the restlessness and emptiness felt both during and post-pandemic, Red September noticed that the community feels as if the “oxygen was simply drained out of sphere” as we all lack connection and collectivity. Instead, we live within a “bubble” — alone and longing to connect. Red September’s new “Vacuum” collection for Autumn/Winter 23/24, which you can view now on their website, wants to breathe air back into the world through their new garments.
Embracing muted hues, voluminous style, and practical features in hoodies, puffer jackets, and more, Red September’s garments help the wearer ease into the world opening back up again; comforted by the ability to wrap themselves up in the clothing, hide away, and layer the pieces as they see fit. Using bubbles to depict the visual contrast of living outside of that orb — breaking free of those aforementioned preconceptions — to find ourselves again. In turn, Red September emboldens the wearer to reconnect with their sense of style and step back into the world and their community.
