For the autumn/winter season, Red September looked to the cities, scouring the metropolitan landscape for inspiration. Rather than be inspired solely by high society and affluent, urban-based people, the label turned instead to the workers — the many people who keep the energy of a city flowing and the people within it content.
This inspiration can be experienced in the new collection. Images of the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman, a famous statue in Moscow, weave their way through the collection, complemented by occasional art deco-inspired imagery.
Alongside the workers, this collection also found inspiration in the underground of Russian cities — the youth who populate bars and clubs as the northern cities descend into nighttime. Statement pieces like the militia parka-inspired bomber exemplify this inspiration, featuring the phrase ‘unbreakable union’ over an image of two males in an intimate embrace. Imagery like this recalls a different period in Russian history, a time when rock bands and alternative style were, though never fully in the mainstream, making a significant impact on Russian society and a contribution to global culture.
The collection features exquisitely tailored pieces, including its strong-pleated wool coat, patchwork-covered knitwear, workwear and sportswear pieces, and much more. Every piece in this collection can be mixed and matched, making for a versatile series full of wardrobe staples. Discover Red September’s new collection today.
