Fashion is at the forefront at 080 Barcelona. Running from October 25th to 28th 2022, the latest edition of the major fashion event in Barcelona is the 30th, bringing together a unique mix of creative and design facets and highlighting the bustling textile industry in the city. For the first time since the pandemic, the 30th edition serves as the return to the fashion event’s physical format — a gathering of minds obsessed with all things fashion, style, and design with the importance of sustainability and innovation at the helm. Championing designers and fashion is the entire ethos behind 080. By showcasing both upcoming talents and well established brands and designers, 080 Barcelona Fashion aims to give everyone the chance to shine. 

All That She Loves is the brand of Clara Esteve, a fashion designer specialising in swimwear and intimates. All That She Loves aims to work with local collaborators and suppliers that are connected within the city’s industrial network as a way to emphasise local production. Using tie-dye as the label’s blueprint, All That She Loves is a collection of high-quality fabrics that embolden the wearer through their unique traits. Their summer 2021 collection is called “La Maison”, a collection imagined around a snazzy, creative woman with a bohemian life that wants to ensure her house is as unique as she is. Amlul was created in 2019 by founder and creative director, Gala González, spending 10 years acquiring professional status in the fashion industry. The brand focuses on timelessness, Made in Spain and ethical limited edition production and every piece is designed for those who want to help with sustainability and responsible consumption. Made in Spain, Amlul brings together Gala’s experience while training at the University of the Arts London (UAL), where she graduated in Fashion Design, and designing capsule collections for the likes of Mango, Adolfo Dominguez, Tous, Superga and others. 

Beginning in the 80s, Custo Barcelona is crafted by Dalmau brothers, Custo and David, after traveling around the world and finding inspiration through art, culture and philosophical influences. Bringing the look of surfers in California with the psychodelia of the North, the duo create innovative fashion garments full of colour in a range of tees. Their collection “Light Up” radiates light and experiments with shapes and patterns. Dominnico is a prêt-à-porter label created in Barcelona by creative director Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro. Leaning into slow fashion and the attention to detail in patterns and the search for new fabrics and materials, the label embraces sustainability wholeheartedly. The label’s latest collection “Nene” for SS23 is inspired by the pet name his mother gave his father, with the garments inspired by the motoring world, the truck and its bodywork from his father’s life.

eikō ai is named from the Japanese translation of “Glory” and “Love”, two aspects that ripple throughout the brand’s garments. Blending a casual style with sophistication and feminism, eikō ai began with a reimagined kimono which eventually turned into their first garment. Their latest collection is “Underwater life,” a collection inspired by water and the fantasy of underwater life that shows the rich colour and diversity found amongst sea life. EÑAUT was crafted in Barcelona and the brand lives and breathes the city in which it was born in. After debuting at 080 Barcelona Fashion in June 2019, the label has cultivated a place in the fashion world from its minimalistic aesthetic and a sustainable vision, Their latest collection, inspired by marine plants, is an example of ensuring fashion is creating a message. The collection highlights the importance of coral and its enviornmental impact and how it cleans the air. Escorpion is a powerhouse in the knitwear industry. With a distinct design, the brand melds together generations through jumpers and knitwear. Their latest collection “Euphoria” is about endurance and knowing there is a feeling of happiness on the way. 

The namesake Guillermina Baeza label is a force in fashion. After moving to Barcelona in the 60s and starting her professional career in the 70s, she’s been a staple at European fashion shows. Her most recent collection “Safari Journey” is about jetting off on a perfect summer getaway: a safari, with garments using pure oranges, fabrics ribbed with golden yarn, and prints to unify colours. With artisanal and ethical items made in Spain, Habey Club has developed new initiatives and designs that are as unique as the creative team is. Based on a number of facets that support the brands — traditional crafts, analysis of trends and their durability, and the ability to reuse and recycle — have proved that they are a masterclass in garment design and production. Their latest collection is inspired by unexpected family gatherings.

A new label Is Coming has been created by Constan Hernández, former chairman and founder of the firm of Intropia. With their experience, they adopted the slow-fashion model and craft high-quality garments to suit the changing needs of wearers. Their new collection “Hotel Barbados” that dances between the night and day with punchy colours. LARHHA is transforming fashion by bringing it together with architecture.  Their collection “LARHHA 23″ shows the growth and maturity since their beginning, demonstrating exchangeable garments that showcase current elements. Lebor Gabala is the brand created by Maite Muñoz. After conspiring to find a perfect name, which was a set of Gaelic manuscripts of the eleventh century which recounts the founding of Ireland, she sought out the finest materials to weave Ireland’s stories through every inch of wool.

For Lola Casademunt, fashion is history. The label is a leader in design and production of women’s clothing and has been since their fruition 40 years ago. What first began as bows and headbands have turned into hand-crafted hair accessories and clothing that embody the wearer’s experience. The collection “Dreaming Africa” brings together a myriad of animal prints, flowing clothes, and enthusiastic tones. LR3 Louis Rubi is a label that has no barriers — no gender, no sizes, and no biases. Their latest collection breaks down the rules and gives the wearer freedom by merging tech, art, and fashion. Martin Across is an exploration of one’s self; a collection of artefacts and textures that showcase the lived experience of oneself. With every piece crafted in Ecuador and sourced with local materials, the production is integral for the brand’s mission as they produce and consume clothing.

Bringing together experience in theatre, cinema and TV, Olga Menchén created MENCHÉN TOMÀS. Designing and producing her own Prêt-à-Porter, Party and Bride collections, she crafts bespoke haute couture and bride designs that speak to the wearer’s soul — all crafted throughout Spain. The latest collection “The Rat Pack” is a collection of US actors and musicians who worked together in the 50s and 60s and are the inspiration behind the latest curation of clothing — consisting of suits, the pinstripe, and more. Spanish fashion brand Reveligion is the brainchild of María Munro, a graduate in fashion design at the CEADE gradual school. Their collection called “Outsider” is about remembering who you are — — and seeking it out. 

SIMORRA embodies expression and creative freedom. Not being distracted by trends or fickle fashion, durability is woven throughout the brand’s garments. Their latest collection “Nomad” is influenced by women who are at the helm of their lives; equal parts inquisitive and lively. Although only established in 2019, The Label Edition is spearheaded by two experts in fashion and luxury marketing — Véronique Von Siebenthal and Laura Johansson. With a digital-first mindset,The Label Edition revolves around the online sale to properly communicate and showcase the garments on the web through digital aesthetics and imagery. With timelessness and ethical at the forefront, the label produces limited edition garments from dead-stock to recycle in order to give them a second life. Their latest collection “Upstaging” is about taking the centre of attention and showing security, power, and personality through every piece. 

Tíscar Espadas incorporates subtle, deft details that stem from the multi-disciplinary visual designer’s experience at different fashion houses in Madrid and Copenhagen. Both the designer’s clothing and paintings are frequently showcased in different museums and galleries in Europe, the United Kingdom and Japan, highlighting the quality and breadth of the garments. The collection “CHAPTER 4, ACT I” looks into transit and connection to build one’s own character. Txell Miras is a designer who breathes fashion and design. Their collection “Vanishing Points” blends geometric facets with fashion to contrast vertical lines to show a state of calm. Yolancris is all about contemporary bridal craftsmanship. After learning how the same craft shared by her mother and grandmother, Yolanda Pérez Álvarez opened her own store at the age of twenty.
