Anne-Charlotte Moulard is a photographer and a filmmaker. Hailing from the North of France, she is also Parisian by adoption. A dancer in her spare time, she has her head full of animation projects. She is a lone dreamer and a hyper social being. Defining her by only one of these aspects would be overly reductive, and her work reflects her many facets; they come together to create an artistic universe, made of motion and freedom.

After working as a photographer for ten years, on commercial and more personal projects, Anne- Charlotte presented Early Bird in 2019. Her first short film paints a dreamy and playful picture of an off-season holiday, set against the backdrop of the over-elaborate images that abound on Instagram. Following a successful premiere, the film went on to be nominated at 18 international festivals (London Fashion Film Festival, Aesthetica Film Festival, ASVOFF, La Jolla, or the Canadian International Film Festival,…) and received several prizes, including the prestigious Boule Rouge du Nouveau Talent for a fashion production, awarded by the French Club des Directeurs Artistiques.

Her latest short film, Thermal, plays on another cliché: the roaming writer in need of inspiration, with false airs of Bob Dylan, whose solitude is brutally invaded. A sort of “hobo” poet, alone and eccentric, who has chosen wandering as his philosophy. The film carries echoes of 8 1/2, of the Magnificent, of the anguish that comes with writer’s block, and encourages its viewers to reflect on what is true or not, and on the way in which reality comes to feed our imagination.

Anne-Charlotte deploys her burlesque poetry and celebrates, in her own way, our timid reunion after months of forced separation.
