Korean and French-Russian actor Pom Klementieff is having “kind of a crazy” start to the year. Klementieff, who stuns in VALENTINO for her Schön! 44 cover, is chatting with Schön! from her hotel room — a place that, despite always changing, has turned into a pseudo-home for the globetrotter. “I grew up in different countries,” she explains, “Now, I live out of a suitcase… but it’s beautiful [too], and I feel lucky to be able to do that.” If you haven’t been keeping up with Klementieff, her travels have continued beyond our galaxy in her recurring role as everyone’s favourite celestial empath Mantis in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Aside from galaxy travel and gratitude, the actress greets adventure with heightened enthusiasm, even finding a love for skydiving. Recently completing her 100th jump, Klementieff divulges that she picked up the skill from Tom Cruise and his stunt crew before turning it into one of her favourite off-screen pastimes. “There’s something very poetic and freeing about it,” she declares, laughing. Klementieff will be starring alongside Cruise in both Parts One and Two of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. “It was a dream role of mine,” notes Klementieff, who had long been a fan of the franchise. Now that she is part of the experience, she raves about the on-screen action as well as the unpredictability and collaboration off-screen.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is in US cinemas on 5th May.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is in US cinemas on 14th July.
