review | coldplay live in london

Come rain or shine, Coldplay know how to put on a spectacle of epic scale. The monumental British band are taking over London’s Wembley Stadium for a record-breaking ten-night residency as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour. Chris Martin and the group have been on a live run since 2022, but their long-awaited homecoming has been nothing short of pure electricity. With supporting acts like Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela among others, each show has been a rich celebration of music.

Sheets of rain fell over London on their 30 August show, yet emotions still ran high and the downpour somehow amplified the spark. Every track was accompanied by a shower of lights cascading across the stands like a prism of rainbows. From iconic anthems like “Viva la Vida” to moving ballads like “Fix You,” the audience were led through a journey of the band’s extraordinary legacy.

Coldplay are masters of scale, combining intimate storytelling with stadium-wide theatrics that made every moment feel spellbinding. It was an immersive adventure brought to life by a dazzling array of extravaganza. From their now infamous jumbotron, to pyrotechnics and 3D visuals, the show was nothing short of exhilarating. Uniting over 80,000 people each night, the stage became Coldplay’s kaleidoscope of wonder where heartfelt melodies echoed across generations and fireworks ignited the London sky.
