Chanel’s latest campaign opens on a familiar scene: a Parisian café terrace, cobblestones catching the light, and the Eiffel Tower somewhere in the distance. It all feels like a throwback to the Maison’s iconic photoshoots of the early 50s. Shot by fashion photographer Mikael Jansson, the Autumn-Winter 2025/26 Ready-to-Wear collection takes on a cinematic rhythm in black and white.

Mona Tougaard is the undiscussed femme fatale starring in the campaign. The Danish model, known for her striking presence on Chanel’s runways, effortlessly transitions between roles, rocking one moment and being romantic the next. Her movements give shape to a collection built on contradiction: hard lines softened by shimmer, and classic silhouettes reworked with a sense of mischief.

The playfulness in the construction is evident. A black tweed cape splits open to reveal a strappy dress, while a golden suit layers a skirt over trousers, trimmed with bold contrast braiding. Even the accessories seem to be in disguise: a pearl becomes a handbag, a bow swells into a shoulder tote, chains are blown up into sculptural forms. This is Chanel’s allure reinvented.

Texture does a lot of the storytelling. Tweeds are luminous, leather is glossy, sequins show up on gauzy tulle. Every detail is meticulously crafted, from velvet bows adorning ankle boots to pearl-shaped heels stamped with the iconic double C. Gloves cut from matching tweed, and sautoir necklaces, cascading with strass or beads, further emphasise the cohesive design.
