“With this capsule we wanted to create an edit of throw-on-and-go holiday looks that can take you from the beach to drinks on the terrace to dinner al fresco,” explains Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M. With that, the team crafted a capsule collection of garments that are equal parts easy-to-wear and bespoke. The collection, which is available on July 4th online at hm.com, features their pièce de résistance: a pale sunset-hued strappy maxi dress, embellished with delicate floral appliqué that evokes a sense of ethereal beauty.
Similarly, the black halter-neck maxi dress, with its flared skirt and spaghetti strap ties, exudes an understated drama and effortless sophistication. Embodying beachside chic, the capsule includes two kaftan styles: a short black-and-white printed version adorned with a whimsical starfish pattern, and a longer, tiered white sheer dress that flows gracefully in the summer breeze. The collection also features a coordinating bralette and flared skirt set, adorned with abstract appliqué swirls in a dreamy apricot sunset shade, perfect for a seamless transition from day to night.
“Versatility and durability are key concerns for our design team,” states Johansson. “They were determined to create the ultimate summer dress our customers will be reaching for year after year, in a high-quality cotton that conforms to Regenerative Organic Certified standards.” Each garment is meticulously crafted from Regenerative Organic Certified cotton. This eco-conscious cotton is cultivated without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and is free of genetically modified organisms.
