jimmy choo x crosby studios | frozen glamour for milan design week

It’s Milan Design Week, and for the occasion, Jimmy Choo trades movement for stillness in a new collaboration. For Salone del Mobile, the luxury accessories brand teams up with Crosby Studios to present a striking new installation inside its Sant’Andrea flagship store — an architectural pause that invites viewers to rethink the pace of design.

At the centre of the space is a leg-height glass capsule created by Crosby Studios founder Harry Nuriev. Inside, a curated selection of Jimmy Choo shoes appears suspended in time: iconic archival designs sit alongside 3D-printed replicas, forming a quiet, sculptural timeline. The effect is subtle but deliberate, like a runway frozen mid-stride.

Visible from both inside the boutique and the street outside, the installation draws from Creative Director Sandra Choi’s own archive, presenting key pieces from the brand’s history. By placing them in dialogue with digitally reproduced forms, the project plays with the tension between permanence and reinvention.

“For me, the challenge is always to transform familiar spaces and objects into something new,” says Nuriev. “With this project, I wanted to take a commercial store and turn it into a temporary exhibition, a space that would exist for just one week but leave a lasting impression.” Sandra Choi echoes this sentiment: “The concept plays with the idea of timelessness, a study that underscores the art form of our creations over the years to be spotlighted.”

The collaboration marks the latest chapter in an ongoing creative dialogue between Jimmy Choo and Crosby Studios, which began in 2023. Running from April 8 – 13, the installation opens with an intimate in-store cocktail event co-hosted by Choi and Nuriev.
