In a groundbreaking collaboration, DAB Motors has teamed up with fashion designer David Koma to unveil a limited-edition reinterpretation of their iconic DAB 1α electric motorcycle. The partnership, sparked by a mutual admiration and an electrifying meeting during Paris Fashion Week, has brought together the worlds of high fashion and cutting-edge motorcycling in a way that feels entirely new.
“The collaboration began with a shared respect for each other’s work,” explains Simon Dabadie, founder and CEO of DAB Motors. “We connected at Paris Fashion Week and quickly realised that Koma’s edgy, fashion-forward designs aligned perfectly with our vision to stylise the world of motorcycles.”
DAB Motors’ designs have already caught the eye of global superstars like J. Balvin and Rosalía, who are known for their boundary-pushing style in both music and fashion. “It’s incredible to see artists of their calibre embracing our bikes,” Dabadie says. “Their influence and unique style definitely inspired this collaboration.”
Central to the project is the design of the bike itself, which takes cues from Koma’s signature biker jackets and accessories present in his Spring/Summer 25 collection. “Koma’s jackets, with their sharp lines and sleek finishes, were a major influence for the bike’s look and feel,” says Dabadie. “We translated that refined toughness into the bike using high-quality materials, metallic accents, and aggressive yet polished lines, giving the DAB 1α a fashion-forward edge.”
The reimagined DAB 1α is available in three striking colourways, each reflecting the boldness of Koma’s latest collection. “The colours were heavily inspired by his runway show,” Dabadie explains. “We wanted the bikes to feel like a seamless extension of his fashion line, blending boldness and elegance.”
At the heart of this collaboration is the merging of two distinct worlds — high-end fashion and motorcycling. Dabadie finds this blend particularly exciting. “Both fashion and motorbiking are about pushing boundaries, so merging the two opened up so many creative possibilities. It’s thrilling to create a product that speaks to both fashion enthusiasts and motorcycle riders, combining style, innovation, and performance.”
Only six of these limited-edition models will be made, making them highly coveted. For Dabadie, these bikes are more than just vehicles. “They’re pieces of art,” he says. “We envision a rider who sees their bike as an extension of their personal style — someone passionate about both innovation and design.”
In keeping with DAB Motors’ commitment to sustainability, these bikes also feature recyclable batteries and a dismountable design that promotes longevity. “Sustainability drives everything we do,” Dabadie emphasises. “We use durable, recyclable materials and local manufacturing to limit our environmental impact, all while ensuring the bikes remain high-performance and stylish. We believe that change happens more easily when it feels rewarding, and we’re blending sustainability with cutting-edge design to inspire that shift.”
Looking ahead, Dabadie reveals that DAB Motors will continue to innovate, particularly with their bespoke customisation arm, DCS. “We’re always exploring new ideas, and with the expansion of DCS, our riders will have even more ways to express their individuality,” he adds. Now part of the Peugeot Motocycles group, DAB Motors is well-positioned to bring their sleek designs and advanced technologies to a global audience, as they lead the way in the future of electric mobility.
