The new fashion collaboration you didn’t know you needed is here, as Parisian label SANDRO partners with British footwear institution Clarks Originals for Autumn/Winter 2025. The collection, which is available now, successfully fuses Clarks’ deep, robust heritage with SANDRO’s contemporary, refined aesthetic, breathing new life into two iconic silhouettes: the Desert Boot and the Wallabee.
The Desert Boot, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, has always been a marvel of minimalist design, worn by everyone from Beatniks to Mods since Nathan Clark first introduced it in 1950, inspired by a model found in a Cairo bazaar. For this collaboration, SANDRO gives the classic a luxurious, urban makeover, transforming the casual staple into a statement piece.

The women’s model is re-crafted in exceptional materials: options include plush beige shearling – a choice that practically guarantees cosy feet – and a striking cowhide-effect leather. These updates ensure the boot remains instantly recognisable while feeling undeniably fresh.
For men, the Wallabee, an enduring fixture of counterculture since 1968, is presented as a sleek Derby in elevated textures. SANDRO’s design studio has focused on high-quality refinement, selecting sumptuous finishes like sand suede calfskin, supple cognac leather and a distinctive chocolate pony-effect hide. Although the materials are luxe, the shoe mercifully retains the signature natural crepe sole – the bouncy foundation fans depend on.
This partnership is a perfect convergence of worlds: British artisanal craftsmanship provides the sturdy anchor, while contemporary French design furnishes the exquisite detail. Your feet and your wardrobe will thank you for the upgrade.
