As the lines between fashion genres are becoming ever increasingly blurred, it seems like an almost natural progression that couture lingerie brand La Perla’s autumn-winter campaign sits itself elegantly somewhere between lingerie, swimwear and daywear. The latest mainline collection maintains La Perla’s signature brand of femininity using luxurious silks, delicate lace and detailing in an exploration and celebration of the feminine form. The mainline collection draws its inspiration from the open seas. The motif of the anchor is a major design feature of the collection and is explored both through its recognisable silhouette in the swimwear and subtle metallic details created using soutache reminiscent of nautical rope. The Italian brand established by Ada Masotti in Bologna 60 years ago is synonymous with immaculate detailing, sophistication and exquisite corsetry.
The campaign features supermodels Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Liu Wen and cover girl of the 18th edition of Schön! Magazine, Naomi Campbell, who was also named the face of the Atelier collection. Haute Couture is not often associated with lingerie brands but La Perla’s Atelier Collection, launched during Paris couture fashion week in January, is the epitome of opulence. The collection which highlighted brands rich history and unique precise tailoring in luxury lace and immaculate embellishment.
The metallics create a striking contrast to the soft teal silks and black and white lace which form the cornerstone of the collection. The latest offerings from La Perla are not only a celebration of the female form but of the rich 60-year heritage of the Italian design house which is as iconic as the supermodels featuring in the campaign.
