“Having spent much of my creative efforts exploring the longing desire I have for romantic connection, I wanted to explore what actually achieving it could look like. The cliché advice to write down on a piece of paper the attributes of one’s desired partner is an idea that both irritates and resonates with me. The Man of My Dreams is that piece of paper. I release it into the world with the intention to be as loving, good and deserving as the romantic partner I want to attract.

This was initially supposed to shoot March 2020 in Los Angeles, but had to be delayed due to the pandemic. This came together in this magical brief moment in time where the entire team was vaccinated but the city of New York was still empty enough for us to shoot without human interference.

The piece is the second, preceding Only Trumpets, in a series of fashion based short films I am making around queer tender love stories. The next, This Is My Hurting Heart, about a couple falling out of love will shoot in Paris sometime early 2022.” — Tristan Scott-Behrends
