the elevator

This piece was inspired by videos Julie Goldstone‘s 8-year-old daughter shot on her toy camcorder. Moved by the pure joy and awe captured in her footage, Goldstone felt compelled to create a meditative short, celebrating the beautiful way we can still access our inner child. Watching her play brought back memories of navigating the world with abandon, free from self-consciousness or judgment, playing for hours, lost in imagination and exploration. This piece is a tribute to that pure, unfiltered wonder we all carry within us.

So far, The Elevator has been selected as the 2024 recipient of the GRAND JURY AWARD, Oniros Film Awards, the winner of the Paris Play Film Festival, garnering an Award of Merit, Best Shorts Competition, and a winner of the Los Angeles Movie & Music Video Awards, in addition to being a finalist at the New York International Film Awards (NYIFA).
