Rossario George is a label that embodies the word “trendsetter.” Bringing together a kaleidoscope of styles and textures, Rossario George is for those who want to celebrate every day and make it unique — regardless of the occasion. From women’s ready-to-wear to home furnishings and lifestyle accessories, the label is a salute to sexy and stylish. At the label’s helm is CEO Tony Vincente, one of the fashion industry’s disruptors causing havoc in the most fashionable way and bringing a wave of change to style, fashion and design.
Schön! chats with Tony Vincente about the origin story behind Rossario George, the goal of the label, and more.
What is the ethos behind Rossario George?
Rossario George is a lifestyle brand that is for everyone. We specialize in making luxury products affordable for everyone who wants quality without having to spend a ton to obtain it.
You are a true multi-hyphenate — you’re a creative director, stylist, online personality, and so much more. How have all of these hats influenced your label and its current collection?
I was taught at an early age that multi-faced provides multi-opportunities. This stuck with me overtime and it helped create and define what people can expect to see from Rossario George. We are known for our sophisticated, elegant styles but also for doing things are way. The new collection is an example of this as we released 3 collections for 2023 (Ready-To-Wear, a Rock inspired couture collection and a Rhinestone heavy couture collection).
Rossario George aims to make sure life looks and feels sexy and special. Why is this so important to you as a designer?
It’s true when you look your best, you really do feel your best and that is extremely important to me. I taking the responsibility of being a creative seriously. I was given a gift and if I don’t share it to enrich the world as I can then I have wasted it and I don’t believe in waste.
Where did the name come from?
The name is in honour of my partner of 20+ years Dean Scumaci’s father. He was a true trendsetter who left this earth way too soon. I wanted to show my appreciation to him for creating the man I couldn’t live without.
You’ve been named as one of the top 30 personalities disrupting the fashion world. What does that honour mean to you?
A ton! It means that what I and my team are doing really resonates with people enough that its not only attracting attention but is changing the narrative.
In addition to that, what do you think defines a ‘disruptor’? How do you see the Rossario George label disrupting the industry?
A disruptor as I see it is someone or something that is redefining what we are told should be. In the case of Rossario George, we are making luxury affordable. We use the same manufactures as other luxury brands but don’t believe that these goods should be exuberantly marked up.
The label is also home to beauty and home pieces. Why was it important for you to create an entire ‘Rossario George life’ through fashion, beauty, and lifestyle pieces?
I love every aspect of life and wanted the brand to represent that. Beauty is more than one thing it’s a myriad of things. From what we put on our bodies, to what we put on our home. I guess it all goes back to the when you feel your best mentality.
What’s the first thing you do when you start working on a new project or design?
Turn on music that inspires and sparks my creative juices. It’s usually 80’s, 90’s, Roisin Murphy or Madonna…
How do you see the Rossario George brand growing and evolving in the future?
A lot is happening in 2023 alone. We are releasing a men’s line in February, showing our collection in locations around the world and more. Over time I do see a flagship store opening and hope that Rossario George continues the successful path we are on so we are available worldwide.
Lastly, what do you hope those that wear, use, or dress their homes up in Rossario George designs feel or think when wearing/using the clothing/pieces?
I want them to feel inspired, empowered, included and lastly magnificent!
