Colourful, vibrant and eclectic, Missoni fabrics have been famous for decades. Meanwhile, Converse has been instrumental in bringing streetwise style to the sports shoe. When two such brands develop a long-term collaboration, the result is a covetable collectable. To celebrate a sixth season of their partnership, Converse announces the Converse x Missoni Archive Project, with the classic Auckland Racer and Pro Leather Mid in a myriad of Missoni runway fabrics from 1994 to the present day. The fabrics are ‘deadstock’ (no longer available), making these unique shoes true collector’s items.
The exclusive 20 pair collection launches this Friday, 28th September, at hip Paris concept store Colette. It will be showcased in a bespoke installation by artist Gary Card and is timed to coincide with Paris Fashion Week. “The Converse Pro Leather and Auckland Racer shoes each helped to usher in the modern era of basketball and running respectively,” says Penny Ericson, Vice President, Converse (Jack Purcell and Premium). “We are excited to unite these iconic designs with the rich heritage of Missoni and the inspiring artistry of Gary Card.” There is also a limited edition, hand-numbered, hardback book to accompany the range. Each copy is bound in the same terracotta canvas used to line every shoe in the collection.
The shoes will retail at €400 and will be sold exclusively at Colette. For more information, visit
