An accomplished teenage rockstar, actor, and model, Noah Urrea is the trinity of talent. Hailing from Orange County, California, the 18-year-old star had his first break after appearing in Blake Shelton’s music video for “Honey Bee“ in 2011 and has since appeared in notable films including A Madea Christmas and A Wake.
With an already impressive background, Urrea tells Schön! that he received a call from his management stating that Now United, a global pop music group, held a strong interest in meeting him. “I thought I’d check it out. I ended up really liking the concept of bringing people together from all around the globe. I think that’s what the world needs right now,” the young star explains. In the midst of his busy schedule, Schön! caught up with America’s dream boy to discuss his passions, his journey to fame and exciting projects to come.
With Now United shining light on his musical talent, Urrea continues to climb up the ladder to fame in the realm of pop music. But on the music front, beyond his ongoing collaboration with the global music group, Urrea is also part of Chump Change, an alternative band with his friends, and expresses that he “loves making music with [them] and only time could tell” if this passion project will flourish into a career.
Having appeared in several films and television series on the big screen, Noah’s journey to acting first sparked at a young age. “I started in musical theatre like a lot of other children do,” Urrea recounts. “Thankfully, I have supportive parents who allowed me to pursue it at a young age. Since I started so young, I had to sacrifice a lot of ‘normal kid things’ but I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Among the many roles played throughout his acting career, Noah explains that his greatest takeaway was working with Ariana Grande. “It was really inspiring to work with Ariana Grande because it was such a crucial time in my life where I was a little bit nervous about what path to take,” he says. “Meeting her made me realize that I can pursue a career in both music and acting.”
Apart from music and acting, Noah continues to enhance his already-loaded résumé with a flourishing modelling career. With Pepsi and models.com collaborations in the works, he explains that his venture into modelling was predominantly driven by his love for fashion and the ability to be himself. “I thought it would be foolish to not dive into modelling,” he explains. “I’ve always loved fashion and it’s part of who I am. Fashion is such a cool place where you can really be who you want to be and still make a statement. It’s about loving who you are, which includes what you wear.”
With a demanding and hectic schedule, Urrea explains that maintaining a proper work-life balance is vital for the ongoing success of his career. “Thank God I have such an incredible team behind me. I try to take everything day by day because if I look at my schedule on my own, I’ll just go crazy. I’ll have an anxiety attack,” he says.
“I think it’s very important to fit in time for my family and friends. Gotta keep the balance,” he also admits. Given his loyal and ever-growing social media following, the young star states that his “love for music and fans are what drive” the inspiration behind his work. Adding to his appreciation for his devoted fan base, America’s dream boy explains his admiration and interest in meeting Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers. “I can learn a lot from him. He has so much wisdom, not only about music but also about life. You can tell by how he balances his own world with his career.”
Disconnecting from life’s busy schedule is typically desired by many, however, this is not the case for Urrea. During his free time, he admits, “I’m always either writing a song or producing. There’s nothing else I’d rather be doing. I don’t consider music to be my career, it’s really what I do for fun and I’m lucky enough to be able to make a living out of it.”
With a number of projects in the pipeline, Urrea confesses, “Now United has some incredible music coming soon that I’m really proud of. I’m excited for the new music videos and new songs.” Throughout all the glitz and glamour, Urrea’s advice to his fans is to “spread love and be yourself.” With a successful past in music, acting and modelling, and an even brighter journey ahead, it is without question that the young star is more than a triple threat.
