Design and nature might look like a contradiction, but it’s precisely where Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons took us for Prada’s autumn/Winter 2025 menswear collection. The duo explored the raw edges of human instinct — literally. Shearling coats with unfinished hems, almost as if clawed at by nature itself, set a tactile tone that balanced ruggedness with refinement.
The backdrop of Fondazione Prada’s Deposito mirrored the theme perfectly. Industrial beams clashed with plush, desert-hued carpets designed by Catherine Martin, creating a space that felt both elemental and cinematic.
Western influences galloped into Milan, too. Scuffed cowboy boots paired with sleek tailoring signalled a man ready for both the wild and the city. Patchwork details felt worn-in, nostalgic even, while floral fur-lined hoods (yes, floral!) and delicate jewellery added a softer, playful twist. Prada’s knack for duality — brutal and beautiful — was as strong as ever. If social media is anything to go by, Western-core is about to have its Prada moment.
But let’s talk about the fur coats and the bags, which really stole the show. The coats, featuring faux fur fronts, added a tactile and visual contrast to the sleek tailoring. These elements were thoughtfully integrated, enhancing the overall aesthetic and adding a palpable depth to the collection.
The bags, however, were the true showstoppers. Prada reimagined the classic bowling bag silhouette, infusing it with a retro flair reminiscent of the 1970s. Crafted in rich, supple leathers, these bags featured rounded edges and a spacious interior, combining practicality with a nostalgic nod to vintage design. The colour palette was a harmonious blend of earthy tones and vibrant hues, capturing the essence of the era while maintaining a modern sensibility.
