The ideal Copenhagen apartment blends Scandinavian design and warm, inviting light. At least that’s how Occhio invites us to absorb its space. Curated by Sofie Brünner, Creative Director for RUM magazine, this pictured space showcases Occhio’s luminaires alongside natural materials and modern forms, embodying the essence of Nordic living.
Occhio, a leader in luxury lighting, has been redefining the culture of light since its founding in 1999 by designer Axel Meise. Based in Munich, Occhio blends award-winning design with exceptional lighting quality, creating innovative solutions that enhance any environment. Their holistic approach has made them a European icon, now recognized globally.
In this apartment, Occhio’s Sento luminaires illuminate the serene Scandinavian aesthetic, with soft light enhancing the room’s calming colours and natural textures. Contrasts are key: warm wood tones meet sharp edges, while the Luna sospeso pendant lights float above, adding a playful touch. The Luna basso luminaire acts as a small work of art, creating its own island of light. A coffee table and shelf by Filippo Andrighetto provide a structured canvas, while above them, a cloud-like cluster of Luna sospeso pendant luminaires floats gracefully, adding a playful lightness to the room. Every detail, from angular wooden frames to metallic chairs, contributes to the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
“For the interior of the Occhio apartment, I wanted to juxtapose the lights with a curated selection of sculptural art pieces and limited-edition furniture. The focus is on the mix of contrasting materials,” Brünner explains, emphasizing the deliberate interplay of elements.
The living space is highlighted by the Mito largo luminaire, casting a gentle glow over a luxurious seating area, completing the perfect balance of comfort and elegance. This collection is a testament to Occhio’s mission to enrich living spaces through the power of light.
