Schön! alive 2 | heirloom alchemy

When Kris van Assche wrote a personal note and sent it, along with his new book ‘55 Collections’, to Serax founder Axel Van Den Bossche, he didn’t expect a swift reply. Two days later, the former creative director of Dior Homme and Berluti sat across from Van Den Bossche in Serax’s Belgium headquarters.

By the end, he walked out with an approval to start his first collection for the brand. Roughly one year later, ‘Josephine’ was born, a refined tribute to his grandmother’s traditions with a Kris van Assche twist. The designer tells Schön! alive to discuss his enduring passion for objects and materials, the stories they’ve created throughout his life, and why he’s so passionate about this project.
