The Rebecca Minkoff girl is free-spirited and romantic, yet powerful and intelligent. With a live performance by Little Daylight to set the atmosphere, the show was designed for the Minkoff girl on her day off (otherwise, Serena van der Woodsen at the Hamptons).
The looks were youthful and easygoing, varying from ‘I woke up like this (at my beach house)’, to ‘Hitting the farmer’s market for lunch’, to ‘Let’s grab day-drinks in the Village’ – innocent enough, with the except of fierce fringed details on accessories. (The Minkoff girl can be chill, but don’t cross her.)
With the color palette in the blue range, the collection had a beach vibe, luring you to lay under the sun, reading your favorite book – perfect for SS15.
Minkoff’s designs are always modern, but this time she took a step further into the future with a techno mesh 3D print. Observing the models down the runway with 3D glasses was a joyful surprise: somehow Rebecca Minkoff integrated the future of fashion without disturbing the Minkoff girl’s tanning session.
