Rising star Lisa Vicari travels to the wild, Wild West in Sky Atlantic’s explosive drama Django . Vicari, who shines in CHANEL for her Schön! 44 cover , has just returned from the Faroe Islands, a place that isn’t exactly on the top of everyone’s must-see list — but it is for her. “It has always been on my list. We hiked every day, and the rain didn’t bother me. It was nice to be in nature, and it was like we had the mountains to ourselves!” The main takeaway? Vicari’s inherent love for nature and being in the thick of it. And with a filmography like hers, it is clear she gravitates towards projects that allow her to truly be enraptured in every step of the film process.
At 19, Vicari landed one of her favourite roles to date as Martha Nielsen on the multi-award-winning Netflix series Dark . “It went on for over three years,” she explains, “so the character and the people on the show grew really close, and I became part of that world.” Travelling from Dark to Sky Atlantic’s ten-part series Django , Vicari talks at length about time’s fleeting nature and its societal construct. It is the first project where the German actress speaks in English, something she describes as a “huge step.” Although it’s set in 1800s Texas, the show’s themes are relatable even in today’s technology-laden society. “It’s about love, family, trust, second chances and regret,” Vicari elaborates.
Django is airing now on Sky TV and Canal+.
