We’ve taken you behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week, but now, we’re giving you the full highlights from the event — both on and off the catwalk and first off is ADEAM. The brand’s showing at NYFW was a collaborative effort. Creative Director Hanako Maeda, a native of Tokyo, Japan, worked with 22-year-old Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka to make a collection both trendy and sporty. This is not to say athleisure was the only offering of the collection; numerous dresses and jackets populated the runway in primarily earthy hues.
Felisha Noel, the Brooklyn-based, Grenada-born designer behind Fe Noel, offered a detailed and heartfelt homage to the black experience around the world. Highlighting colours and forms from Africa to the West Indies, the latest from Fe Noel had everything from ultra wide-legged trousers to plaid bodysuits — and definitely solidified the designer as one to watch in the coming years.
Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera‘s AW 2020/2021 show masterfully displayed proportions and colour. For his second collection behind the brand, designer Wes Gordon focused on grandeur, presenting larger than life capes, dresses, and jumpsuits. The designer played with monochromatic ensembles and colour blocking techniques to create a lineup that felt fresh for both the brand and NYFW as a whole. Intricate lacing, bold patterns, and oversized ruffles were perhaps surprisingly also present in the collection.
Christian Siriano‘s collection earned an immediate standing ovation from comedian Leslie Jones — and it’s what it deserved. Mixing day-to-day pieces with grand evening dresses, Siriano presented a colourful collection that was, coinciding with the release of Birds of Prey, largely inspired by Haley Quinn. However, it was Coco Rocha’s sculptural dress that definitely stole the show.

LaQuan Smith
LaQuan Smith‘s designs exude confidence and this season was no exception. With a predominantly black colour palette, the Queens-born designer once again managed to pull off a collection full of sinuous silhouettes. Leather accents, as well as standout pieces in white and brown, helped round off another quintessentially LaQuan Smith collection.
Pamella Roland
We already took you behind the scenes at Pamella Roland‘s Versailles bash but, now, we’re giving you a glimpse of the collection in full action so you can see how the shimmery¡ing body-con dresses stole the show.
Palm Angels embraced America for its second appearance in NYFW. The collection featured suede jackets, ponchos, desert boots, and fringe as far as the eye could see. These feelings of Americana carried the collection, including motifs of eagles and mountains plastered across knitwear, fleece zip-ups and more.
