district vision x massimo osti studio | chapter 12

If you’ve ever obsessed over the fabric of a vintage Stone Island or C.P. Company piece, you understand the near-mythical legacy of Massimo Osti, Italy’s godfather of technical sportswear. His archive is a library of industrial textile science, a place where garment dyeing and fabric innovation were practically invented. This is the world that District Vision decided to step into. The cult Californian brand, founded by Tom Daly and Max Vallot, is known for its mindful, high-tech approach to running gear.

Their new collaborative ‘Chapter 12’ is a surgically precise, three-piece collection that feels like the product of their combined research on minimalist aesthetics and experimental, cross-disciplinary approach. The clear standout is the ultralight, packable jacket.

Crafted from semi-transparent Pertex®, the garment’s high-contrast, bright red, heat-sealed seams are visible through the material. This direct and reverent nod to Osti’s experimental prototypes from the 1980s is evident in the contrasting materials used to highlight the garment’s construction.

This jacket is the perfect bridge between the two studios: Osti’s obsession with re-engineering materials and District Vision’s focus on essential, high-performance tools.

The jacket is paired with sunglasses, which is District Vision’s home turf. They are engineered from aerospace-grade titanium, making them practically weightless but incredibly strong. It’s a design that reflects the brand’s core mission of creating tools so good they become unnoticeable, allowing for better focus and mindfulness. A simple, ring-spun cotton graphic T-shirt rounds out the collection, acting as a clean base layer for the high-tech pieces.

The Chapter is available exclusively at massimoosti.com, districtvision.com and selected retail partners.
