Due to the war in Ukraine, the fashion industry has been practically destroyed. Majority international brands left the market, the work of editorial offices has stopped, and shops and showrooms were closed. Despite that, Ukrainian designers persevere and continue to work. Seamstresses sew new collections in the dark with no heating with the sound of generators; Ukrainian brands continue to work and create collections.
This Schön! editorial asks one simple question: what would you choose? Would you give up or make the choice to continue forward? Photographer Anna Goncharova shows a fashion history with the participation of leading Ukrainian designers and their new collections created during the war. Everybody believes in the victory of Ukraine and continues to work further, even in such difficult times. Fashion is by Olha Dubrovska who styles models Asia Zebracka, Julia, Olek Jackiewicz, Anna Soltan, and Kornelius Petrus with hair and make up by Kateryna Ukhova.
