Earlier this week, Schön! was kindly invited to preview Ted Baker’s Autumn/Winter 2012 footwear collection. Emerging suitably wined and dined, we met the footwear designers and even got a sneak peek of the promising Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
This season’s men’s collection blends heavy soles and rounded toes to compliment heritage fabrics and weathered leather. New and exclusive to this range, is an impressive collection of hand-dyed footwear where every shoe is unique and individually treated. Specially formulated leather dye is applied to natural leather achieving a depth of colour unseen anywhere else. Pivotal to the theme of the ‘Great Britain’s Great Outdoors’ collection as a whole, the dye leaves the shoes with dark, earthy tones of woody browns and burnished leaves, perfectly complimenting the Autumnal sunshine.
The women’s collection boasts a celebration of distinctive textures and colours, using snake leathers, feathery ponyskin and spiky crystals with explosions of glitter for dramatic city looks. Bows add extra detailing to finish off the glamour.
As ever, the designs are quintessentially British; a perfect celebration between classic and contemporary English masterpieces, proving there is no need to hibernate through the Winter.
