What does it mean to be truly present? To exist without the artifice of performance or the polished mask we wear for the world? For GIGI STUDIOS, the answer is found in its Autumn/Winter 2025 campaign, ‘IN THE RAW,’ a precise exploration of form, material, and character, embodied by model Erin Wasson and captured through the lens of Gorka Postigo. “Authenticity and freedom to me mean that you are being guided by something bigger than yourself,” Wasson says. “The GIGI STUDIOS project speaks to that because I truly felt as if the team allowed me to be the vessel of who I was at my core.”

Founded in Barcelona, GIGI STUDIOS has built a reputation for redefining eyewear through craftsmanship and creative experimentation. Independent and family-owned, the brand merges artisanal techniques with innovative design, producing frames that balance architectural precision with a strong sense of personality.

Just like its campaign, the new collection represents an evolution in the brand’s approach to eyewear. Each frame is a careful study in architecture, with a focus on its structure, volume, and presence. Using lamination techniques to create chromatic interplay and visual depth, GIGI STUDIOS combines acetate and metal in unexpected ways, shaping silhouettes that feel tactile, sculptural, and inherently modern. Colours lean away from the obvious, with unusual tonal combinations adding nuance, while proportions breathe new life into timeless shapes.

Wasson notes how the designs carry both memory and modernity: “This collection really spoke to one part modernisation of eyewear and also nostalgia. A lot of the models are based on memories of the past, but the way they’ve elevated the colourways and lenses is so beautiful. The small details – the gradients, the tones – make a pair of sunglasses feel either totally modern, vintage, or somehow both at once.”

Postigo’s lens captures the American model in a way that mirrors the design philosophy: stripped back, intentional, and poised. “What I really enjoyed about working with him is that he approaches the frame with so much clarity,” Wasson reflects. “It allowed me to hold space in the photograph in a very quiet and strong capacity.”

This season’s collection isn’t chasing trends, but reflecting the moment. As Wasson puts it: “GIGI STUDIOS is very aware of its audience. I wouldn’t say the collection is trend-driven, but it speaks to this moment of expression they want to share right now.”

The eyewear is a tactile and visual experience. The VANGUARD line, for example, features oversized round frames with a beautiful harmony between a voluminous front and slim temples. Other designs, like the SENNA, channel a 70s essence, blending acetate and metal in a sophisticated, lightweight construction. The LAB collection explores soft lines and rounded contours, where tone-on-tone laminations add visual depth without sacrificing a serene, cohesive feel. Even the smaller frames in the XS line have a sculptural presence, with a subtle crescent-shaped curve that adds a touch of personality. From the aviator-inspired Thea to the sleek Lyanne, each pair is designed to have character and a sense of effortless confidence.

Among Wasson’s favourites? The LYANNA. “It’s bold, elegant, and has that touch of vintage we all love,” she says.
