The Anfield pitch this week has turned red, white and blue as Tommy Hilfiger has officially touched down in Liverpool. This marks the American designer’s first ever dive into the world of club football as the Global Partner for both the men’s and women’s Liverpool FC squads.
To make the entrance properly loud, the brand unfurled the largest Tommy flag ever produced right across the hallowed turf. But rather than letting a record-breaking piece of fabric go to waste, it has been donated to the Silly Goose Foundation. Founded by Reagan, an inspirational 24-year-old Reds fan and LFC Foundation participant who was born with Down syndrome, the foundation uses textiles and creativity to support adults with learning disabilities. Reagan – who recently even gave goalkeeper Alisson Becker a sewing lesson at her Birkenhead studio – will repurpose the flag into one-off pieces for a charity auction.
The partnership brings a sharp East Coast edge to the Merseyside match day. We will see players like Virgil van Dijk, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz, alongside Liverpool FC Women stars Gemma Bonner and Leanne Kiernan, swapping their kits for bespoke head-to-toe looks, ranging from refined denim to the brand’s ‘New York’ dress casual collection.

The collection itself is a heavy-hitter in texture and style, featuring predominantly smart casual pure cashmere jumpers and relaxed pressed-crease trousers. The lineup includes also TH Crest wool blazers for a bit of formal bite, alongside more rugged Dover selvedge straight-leg jeans and cable-knit polo jumpers. To top it off, the players will be stepping out in leather embossed logo loafers.
Captain van Dijk says that the squad is ready for the change: “It’s great to see our LFC club partnership with Tommy Hilfiger go live. We as players are excited to see the collaboration come to life, bringing together fashion, culture and heritage.”
Tommy Hilfiger himself has been a sports obsessive for decades, previously linking up with icons like Lewis Hamilton and Rafael Nadal. This move into football follows his latest ‘new frontier’ sponsorships with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team and the U.S. SailGP Team.
For Hilfiger, the appeal of Liverpool was the human element. “I am drawn to teams with deep fan heritage and value-driven storytelling, and Liverpool Football Club has an unmatched history shaped by its people: their belief, resilience and pride,” he says.
Ben Latty, Liverpool’s Chief Commercial Officer, sees the collaboration as a way to show a different side of the club. “Tommy Hilfiger is a truly iconic name in global fashion, and we’re absolutely delighted to partner with them as they venture into the world of club football for the first time. This unique collaboration allows us to explore a different side of match day and the moments around it.”
The co-branded capsules and seasonal stories will begin rolling out immediately, bringing a bit of American prep to the spirit of the Kop.
