What do you get when you mix prep, speed, and cinema? According to Tommy Hilfiger: a full-throttle summer wardrobe.

Timed with the release of F1® The Movie, the brand’s latest capsule — the APXGP Collection — combines motorsport, Hollywood, and fashion. Damson Idris, who stars in the film alongside Brad Pitt and also serves as a Tommy Hilfiger brand ambassador, fronts the campaign. His character’s red racing jacket from the movie even makes a cameo in the collection as a wearable piece of the big screen, reimagined in quilted nylon.

“Working with the Tommy Hilfiger team and on F1® The Movie has been an unforgettable ride — an authentic blend of iconic style and cinematic power,” says Idris. “Tommy’s vision has always been about pushing culture forward, and that energy runs through every part of this partnership. From The APXGP Collection and everything we’ve done to bring the film to life for audiences, it all channels that same fearless spirit — capturing the grit to succeed on the track and the confidence to own every moment of it.”

The collection is designed with the same hybrid energy. There are moto-style mechanic shirts, varsity jackets in vegan leather, and a merino polo that nods to paddock polish. Japanese denim jeans bring a tailored feel, while sharp silhouettes and bold graphics lean fully into the current ‘motorcore’ moment, encapsulating the rising crossover of track and style. A camel selection isn’t missing either, including pleated trousers, sweater polo, and a mechanic jacket. And for all the sports fans, caps are also part of the capsule, launching in three different tones: black, red, and ecru.

Hilfiger’s interest in Formula 1™ goes back to his childhood, watching races through the fences at Watkins Glen. That fascination evolved into real-world partnerships with F1 teams throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

“As F1® has opened its doors to new worlds like entertainment and fashion, the sport has become a cultural phenomenon,” Tommy Hilfiger says. “This film captures the cultural shift, setting a benchmark in what we call ‘fashiontainment’, where the future is being shaped. It’s a bold new chapter, and we’re setting the pace for what comes next.”

Following Idris’ Met Gala arrival in an APXGP car this May, the collaboration continues as Hilfiger becomes the official fashion sponsor of the fictional team in the film, with Idris playing rookie driver Joshua Pearce and Pitt as veteran Sonny Hayes. The film, backed by Apple Original Films and directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski, opens in theatres and IMAX from 25 June internationally and 27 June in North America.
