Every season, Schön! checks in on 080 Barcelona Fashion. This season, the exciting week and platform has returned with a range of new faces to share along with some old favourites. Now, before the week officially kicks off, Schön! has selected several designers to look out for as you follow the events. When the week finally begins on 25th October, you’ll be able to watch each show online exclusively via 080 Barcelona. Here are some of the new additions alongside 080 favourite designers to look out for.
We start with a favourite: Guillermina Baeza. Born in the Spanish protectorate in Morocco, designer Guillermina Baeza creates pieces following a philosophy that “Swimwear and lingerie are not mere accessories.” With a career that extends back to the 80s, Baeza creates interesting looks and captivating shows with a style all their own, and we’re excited to see what’s in store for this season.
Júlia G Escribà is presenting her debut collection at 080 entitled “JGE Future Term”. A Catalan native, the 20-year-old will showcase a series of thermoregulating with a technology that was developed for NASA. This is in part motivated by her desire to create urban, functional clothes that can adapt to any climate — which she considers a necessary move given the pressing danger of climate change. There’s no better place to share her message than her hometown — and no better place to do it than 080.
Martín Across places this collection somewhere between the Andean landscapes of Ecuador and the salty air that can be found along the coasts of Spain. A lifelong explorers and lover of nature, designs under the Martín Across banner carry a spirit of adventure imbued with natural elements, such as inspirations from sediments, layers and minerals. Each piece is hand-crafted in Ecuador from local materials.
Moisés Nieto is a sustainable fashion label founded in 2011 by its titular designer. Crafting with sustainability in mind, the label produces works with exquisite craftsmanship and high attention to detail. This collection dives deeply into the designer’s memories, recreating his vision of the 90s through fashion.
THE (REAL) GARCIA is a brand that celebrates functional, practical and timeless style. Designed in Barcelona, the label focuses on the needs of the modern man, creating each piece under the philosophy of Be Less, Be Better, Be (REAL). The label’s 080 debut will feature a series of essentials, classically crafted with incredible quality.
For our final label to watch at this season’s 080, we turn to an old favourite — All That She Loves. Created by Clara Esteve, this label takes this season of 080 to bring us a collection based on the origins of the planet, telling its story by taking influence from the four basic elements: water, earth, fire and air.
