Two souls, one canvas. In this Schön! 48 editorial, dualities merge in bold contrasts through mirrored identities and divergent hues — all where balance is born from difference. Whether twins Drew Payne and Devin Payne are opposing or complementing one another through photography by Jordan Millington Liquorice and creative direction by Liquorice and PJ Magerko Liquorice, they are always mirroring one another — a true twin palette.

What truly enriches the soul? It’s not fame or money, but the longing for human desire. It’s something that is equal parts profound and innate, especially knowing that it reflects a deep craving for meaning, purpose, or a sense of fulfillment that goes beyond material needs. This yearning often orbits around a spiritual connection or a deeper insight into one’s role and existence within the vastness of the universe.

Jameela Jamil isn’t one to mince words. The British actor, writer, podcaster, and now Schön! 48digital cover star has become known for her directness both on and offline. Through her podcast ‘I Weigh’ and her digital platform of the same name, she’s sparked honest dialogue about mental health, body image, and cultural expectations. Her acting credits include ‘The Good Place’, ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’, and ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’, but it’s her new film, ‘Elio,’ that is a major career milestone for her.
“Elio is the big one,” she says, wearing Christian Louboutin and Feben for her cover story. “I’ve always wanted to be in a Pixar film. God knows that as a 24-year-old running around the Pixar Studios as a visitor, I had no idea that one day I would become an actor and end up back there. I couldn’t have imagined it.” For Jamil, the opportunity feels like a reward for her boldness: “The fact that I’m here continues to prove to me that the universe favours the bold. I feel very lucky, and credit my sheer audacity for getting me here. I think it’s been 30% talent and 70% audacity.”
She believes the film’s message is especially timely. “Anything that promotes a positive message to children is so important,” she explains. “Young people can be prone to feeling hopeless, thanks to the heightened toxicity of social media constantly surrounding us.” ‘Elio’, she says, offers something different—something optimistic. “It encourages children to dream bigger for themselves… ‘Elio’’s story highlights the universal truth that anyone can make a difference, even in a small way. If we all did this, then we wouldn’t need activists and leaders to stand on their soapbox. Really, we should all be taking the responsibility to make an effort to change the world.”
Outside of acting, her influence also reaches beyond the screen. Jamil’s new podcast, ‘Wrong Turns’, takes a comedic approach to mistakes and missteps. “Just like with ‘Elio’, I want to put uplifting and positive content out into the world,” she says. “We have all grown slightly fatigued from serious messages and we’re also sick of being told everything has to be inspiring all of the time.” The podcast explores life’s most embarrassing moments. “It’s about all the silliest, daftest and most embarrassing things that have ever happened to us… This is saying, ‘It’s fine. Sometimes life just f*cks us.’”
