CRO is back at it, but this time, he’s swapping the mic for a futuristic sneaker. The German rapper, known for his genre-blending music and signature masked look, has teamed up with Zellerfeld to create the MARS MELLOW — a shoe that’s as otherworldly as it sounds. Drawing inspiration from his concept of being “trapped in paradise,” the collaboration merges space-age aesthetics with CRO’s playful and bold style, delivering a sneaker that’s bound to make a statement.
CRO’s influence in music is undeniable, having pioneered his unique blend of rap and pop, or “Raop,” and gaining millions of fans worldwide since his breakout in 2012. But his creativity stretches far beyond the studio. Now, with the MARS MELLOW, he’s venturing into new territory — quite literally, designing a shoe fit for Martians.
“I wanted to design something that feels like it belongs on Mars,” says CRO. “It’s futuristic and bold, like something you’d wear while exploring a new planet. But it’s still grounded in who I am as an artist.” And that’s exactly what the MARS MELLOW captures — a blend of the unknown, CRO’s identity, and a playful nod to space exploration.
The MARS MELLOW was first unveiled in Tokyo with a campaign shot by renowned photographer Geray Mena. Set against a surreal Martian landscape, the visuals perfectly encapsulate the shoe’s futuristic vibe. Mena’s work, known for combining luxury with a touch of humour, has previously graced brands like Hermès and Adidas.
At the heart of this collaboration is Zellerfeld, a company reshaping the way shoes are made. Their 3D printing technology is revolutionising the footwear industry, and the MARS MELLOW is a prime example of what’s possible when technology and creativity collide. “Zellerfeld’s platform opens the door for creators to do what was once impossible — bring their wildest visions to life without the constraints of traditional manufacturing,” says Cornelius Schmitt, CEO of Zellerfeld.
Launching exclusively on zellerfeld.com, the MARS MELLOW offers fans the chance to step into the future — one stylish foot at a time.
