Über-elegant German label Wunderkind explores the theme of ‘grace and gravity’ in its SS13 collection, with multiple layering of soft fluid coats, jackets, dresses and billowing skirts. Masculine shapes combine with feminine fabrics such as crêpe du chine, silk gabardine, silk georgette and cotton batiste in shades of taupe, chalk, azure, peppermint, watermelon and yellow.
The label was launched in 2003 by designer, illustrator and writer Wolfgang Joop, who achieved international renown in the 1980s when he created the successful JOOP! brand. Wunderkind’s philosophy is to provide the modern, independent woman with an effortless and understated way of dressing that offers a sense of freedom without compromising elegance.
