Light bends. Shadows stretch. For a suspended moment, the familiar order dissolves. Eclipse, the new collection from Berlin-based jewellery brand Avgvst, captures the rare celestial pause where clarity gives way to shadow and the rhythm of the cosmos fractures.
Drawing inspiration from eclipses as ancient harbingers of transformation, the collection translates the transient distortion of light into material form, freezing movement into sculptural jewellery that feels as though it exists between dimensions.
Designed in collaboration with Brazilian Creative Director and Designer Isa Kauffman, whose portfolio includes Prada, Bottega Veneta, Acne Studios, Y/Project, and Kiko Kostadinov, the collection draws from the visual language of optical astronomy and early scientific diagrams. A fragment from Shiro Takatani’s visual performance, Tangent (2024), sets the tone for its moodboard, exploring dark geometry, spatial tension, and crystalline precision.
These pieces, crafted in 925 sterling silver with rhodium-plated finishes, explore the dualities of reflection and absorption, as if they were small individual eclipses themselves. Avgvst’s signature hand-cut rock crystal takes on a new role here: pieces like the Eclipse Rock Crystal Split Ring and the Mirror Ellipse Earrings act as a lens that twists and folds light, echoing the swift glimmer of a vanishing sun. Other pieces, such as the Eclipse Two-Strand Choker, follow the delicate intersection of circles representing the Moon and Sun, while the Uroboros Earcuff subtly nods to eternal cycles by intertwining silver and gold. Meanwhile, the Eclipse Pinky Ring merges three surfaces into an unexpected, unconventional form that makes it tactile, refracted, and luminous.
Since its founding in 2015 by Natalia Bryantseva, Avgvst has evolved into a Berlin-based brand that blends minimalism with experimentation, inspired by art, architecture, and cross-disciplinary design. Now working exclusively with manufacturers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council, the label continues to balance concept-driven storytelling with craftsmanship and sustainability.
With Eclipse, Avgvst captures the electricity of a cosmic event. Launching in a series of drops across winter, the first chapter arrives on 4 September 2025 online and at Avgvst’s flagship store in Berlin.
